Structural, mechanical, piping and tankage construction
Our in-house multi-disciplinary engineering construction service includes structural, mechanical, electrical and piping capability, offering the resources and skills to execute a diverse range of projects.
Monadelphous’s expertise includes:
- Structural steel supply and erection
- Installation of heavy mechanical equipment such as crushers, screens, mills, ship loaders, stackers, reclaimers, compressors, process skids, boilers and turbines (gas and steam)
- Installation of above and below ground piping systems for petrochemical, mineral processing, water and associated facilities
- Installation of large bins and tanks for the mineral processing and petrochemical industries including thickeners, process tanks, elevated storage bins, silos and miscellaneous storage and reagent tanks
- Complex and heavy lifts with our own extensive crane fleet of up to 350 tonne capacity complete with superlift (which provides mid-range capacity similar to 650 tonne).

Our construction expertise, project management skills and proven track record have won the confidence of many major Australian companies.
Monadelphous specialises in:
- Overall project management, design, procurement, fabrication, erection, installation and commissioning of all major plant and equipment
- Subcontract management of all associated construction services including earthworks, civils, refractories and insulation
- Wet/dry commissioning of plant equipment, systems testing as well as pre-commissioning services
- The management and coordination of multi-disciplinary design functions through alliance partners and/or subcontractors
- The provision of constructability reviews.

MIE, our Electrical and Instrumentation Division, is a leading provider of specialist instrumentation and electrical expertise.
MIE has extensive experience across the mining and minerals processing, petrochemical, power generation and transmission, materials handling and manufacturing sectors. We offer a seamless engineering service which integrates materials management, manufacturing and construction capabilities.

Electrical Engineering Services
MIE offers comprehensive electrical engineering services including:
- Installation of power and lighting systems, switchboards, high voltage cabling networks and motor control centres
- Installation of project infrastructure systems including cabling, junction boxes, cable ladders, conduit and pipe systems
- Procurement of devices and materials for service application and distribution.
Instrumentation
MIE understands that instrumentation is critical for ensuring stable, accurate and reliable control of process systems. Smart instruments integrated into the plant control systems provide management with timely and accurate data for improved decision making.
MIE offers the following instrumentation services to maximise the potential of technology through:
- Instrument specification and procurement
- Installation of systems including hazardous area control systems, SCADA systems, DCS and PLC systems, fire and gas systems and process indicators, transmitters and controllers
- Infrastructure systems installation including cabling, marshalling panels, instrument air/gas reticulation and impulse line systems
- Testing and device re-certification through fully trained technicians with NATA certified testing equipment
- Maintenance services including removal, refurbishment and replacement as well as implementing total maintenance programs.
Telecommunications
MIE has a specialist communications team offering design, construction and installation of mobile telephone base stations and telecommunication facility projects.
Our telecommunications services help customers in any location to develop communication systems through:
- Equipment specification and procurement
- System design, installation and implementation
- Infrastructure installation including backbone building cabling, co-axial installations, fibre optic cabling networks, fail safe systems and associated support systems
- Testing of data and voice systems, fibre optic systems and ethernet systems.
