Meet our Onslow Trade Supervisor
From making his start at Monadelphous as a carpenter, to transitioning into a supervisory role, Trades Supervisor and Onslow local, Cori Moon, is one of our many upskilling success stories from across the Pilbara region. After starting off with Monadelphous just over a year ago as a carpenter/leading hand working on Chevron Australia’s Wheatstone project, Cori’s hard work and enthusiasm was noticed by his supervisors, who promoted him to a trades supervisor role in December last year. The new role is no easy task, with Cori looking after our carpenters, electricians, plumbers and general service operators on site – totalling around 15-20 people at any one time. Cori says despite the role transition being challenging, having come through the ranks gives him the opportunity to have a better understanding of the team he supervises. “I wouldn’t say the transition has been without its challenges, but it’s definitely been a positive experience for me,” Cori said. “I have a firsthand understanding of what our team is going through if they come to me with any issues, which I think helps me carry out my role more successfully. I’ve already got that relationship with my team who are on the tools and we have a great level of mutual respect.” Having been a part of the small Onslow community for seven years, Cori says it’s the close-knit environment and locally-run activities run by the community that makes the town so special. “I’ve always been a big fan of the small community. You get to know everybody around town really well,” he said. “There are social sports run here and there including badminton, football and bowls. |

Plus, there’s all the fantastic work the V Swans do with the local school-aged kids as well.”
And as for the best part about living in Onslow, according to Cori?
“The world-class fishing of course!”
