Closing the gap
We recognise and respect the traditional owners of the land upon which our projects are located and their links to culture and heritage. We see traditional landowners as key stakeholders in our business. We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are some of the most disadvantaged in the Australian labour market.
Monadelphous is committed to providing full, fair and reasonable engagement opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We will commit to engagement in the areas of:
- Training and Education
- Business Development and Capacity Building
- Community and Cultural Awareness
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlines the core requirements and commitments that we will use to deliver outcomes for Aboriginal people and achieve sustainable development to help close the gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
Where practical Monadelphous seeks local Aboriginal labour and contractors from the areas where we work.
Diversity in the Workplace
Our workforce consists of people with diverse cultures, backgrounds and skills. This diversity enriches our knowledge, capabilities and experience. We aim to attract, develop and retain people who are highly competent, live the company’s values and actively contribute to the long-term success of the business. Diversity supports this by bringing a broader range of perspectives and ideas which create value for our customers and shareholders.
