Iron Ore

For many years, Monadelphous has delivered some of the largest and most challenging projects for the iron ore industry, particularly in Western Australia. We have built strong relationships with major iron ore customers, such as BHP and Rio Tinto, which has resulted in significant repeat business.

In 1996, our Engineering Construction division ventured into iron ore with a $3 million contract with BHP on the Yandi II project, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, for the construction of the crushing and screening plant.

Our Maintenance and Industrial Services division’s first involvement was with Rio Tinto in 2004 at Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This evolved to include structural integrity, maintenance and capital works projects for its Pilbara Iron Coastal and Inland operations.
