Project description
The project includes replacing vital infrastructure at Nelson Point to ensure dust emission control strategies can be and implemented, managed and measured in line with the latest environmental standards.
Dust from stockpile activities is controlled by water cannons and transferred to conveyor system via reclaimers and moved onto shiploaders. As these shiploaders load at a rate of 10,000 tonnes an hour, the management of dust is critical to the production and management of this site.
Scope of work
Full vertical package including civil, concrete, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works associated with the installation of a new dust collection system on the CD2 Car Dumper for BHP at Nelson Point.
CD2 Precinct works include:
- Existing CD2 building ductwork improvements
- Fogging system for the P201 conveyor
- New scrubber building
- Demolition of the existing duct bridge
- Duct bridge to the new scrubber building
- New intermediate slurry tank
