The Hope Downs 4 (HD4) iron ore deposit in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, is approximately 30km north-west of Newman and 40 km south-east of Rio Tinto's HD1 mine.
As part of Rio Tinto's Mine Expansion Project, Monadelphous was awarded the Structural, Mechanical and Piping package to construct the HD4 process plant on behalf of Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting.
Scope of Work
Structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) for the supply, installation and commissioning of a mine processing plant at the greenfields site.
Development of the site:
- The process plant, with a nominal throughout capacity of 15 million dry tonnes per annum of ore deposit, including primary crushing, wet scrubbing and screening, secondary crushing and dry screening, filtration and classification
- Waste fines thickening with discharge and return lines, sampling facilities for fines and lump product, stockpiling of lump and fines product, reclaiming and train load out.
